As long as you're fighting it, you're giving it power. Over the years, countless clients have told me they have been "fighting" depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other mental health struggles for most of their lives. The problem is that many people facing depression, anxiety, or trauma already feel exhausted, overwhelmed, helpless, or hopeless. You cannot fight depression, anxiety, or fear without, in some sense, fighting the self in which those experiences arise. First, letting go of the fight mentality means challenging habits that have been reinforced both culturally and biologically.
