In 2021, Brody Carlson was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after he went to a regular endocrinology appointment, and his doctor ran some blood work that indicated he had the disease. So, he decided to do something to help others going through that same transition. For his senior project, he created “Bags of Hope for Type 1 Kids.” Brody eventually started a Facebook page, and he said he was hoping to raise the money to help three people, but he raised enough money to help over 60. Brody hopes to continue making a difference in the lives of those living with Type 1 Diabetes and wants to make a career out of it.
