E-commerce giant eBay has agreed to pay a journalist couple nearly $50 million after the company's former executives relentlessly harassed them.
Wenig and eBay have also agreed to pay a combined $7 million to charitable causes as part of the settlement.
The Steiners' attorneys said the settled lawsuit came in response to 'the company’s widely publicized 2019 cyberstalking and harassment campaign designed to stop their reporting.'
In early 2024, eBay was ordered to pay a separate $3 million fine after it was federally prosecuted for the harassment campaign.
The police department’s discovery prompted a criminal investigation into the harassment campaign ordered by some within eBay’s executive ranks.
