Wrexham’s estimated population rose from 137,920 in mid-2024 to 137,977 in mid-2025, an increase of 57 people, or 0.04 per cent. Flintshire’s population increased from 155,898 to 155,954 over the same period, a rise of 56 people, also 0.04 per cent. The ONS table of local authorities, arranged by percentage change, places Wrexham and Flintshire towards the bottom of the list, alongside a small number of areas where populations are broadly flat or have seen slight falls. Mid Suffolk’s population was up 2.05 per cent to 113,047, while Tewkesbury rose 2.01 per cent to 103,753. They provide a consistent measure of how populations in different parts of England and Wales are changing from year to year.
