Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) has delivered a standout FY26, welcoming a record 8.4 million passengers across its four-airport network as international travel rebounded strongly and overall growth outpaced the national average. Gold Coast Airport was the star performer, handling 6.5 million passengers – up 7.7 per cent year on year – with international traffic driving much of the growth. Gold Coast Airport recorded 6 per cent growth in domestic passengers, while Trans-Tasman traffic climbed more than 20%. Travel to other international destinations surged by more than 53% compared with FY25, highlighting the airport’s expanding global network. Townsville Airport also enjoyed a solid year, welcoming 1.7 million passengers, around 2 per cent higher than the previous financial year.
