(ABC 6 News) – The Pine Island Fire Department said firefighters put out a vehicle fire on Highway 52 that spread to multiple vehicles and nearby grass. PIFD said crews were dispatched Wednesday, July 29, around 1:55 p.m. near Highway 52 at mile marker 70 after a report of a vehicle fire on the shoulder. The passenger car and Amazon van were fully engulfed, and several spot fires had also started in the ditch. Deputies with the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and the Minnesota Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene.
