Under the current structure, the airport authority is governed solely by the City of Fargo. Fargo Municipal Airport Authority Chair Rick Berg addressed the potential change during a Wednesday interview on The Jay Thomas Show, clarifying that local tax dollars are strictly earmarked for long-term growth rather than everyday overhead. Berg explained that transitioning to a county authority is aimed at fairness and regional collaboration rather than generating additional revenue. “Right now, the City of Fargo is the only entity that supports the Fargo airport,” Berg noted.
