Louise Harris, 42, from Pontardawe, Swansea, was sentenced to three months in prison for abusing 81-year-old dementia sufferer Elizabeth Anne Shipton. Ms Shipton protested that Ms Harris was hurting her, but the carer replied: "I don't care, where's your money?" Judge Huw Rees, sentencing at Swansea Crown Court, said Ms Harris had been "heartless and cruel" and showed a "callous disregard" for Ms Shipton’s welfare. Ms Shipton’s family had known Ms Harris for years and had trusted her to care for the pensioner. After downing vodka, Ms Harris became aggressive and abusive, shouting obscenities and waving a knife around the kitchen.
