Scott McDermott, of Carrick Knowe Drive, Edinburgh, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He admitted that between June 28 last year and February 28, in Rosyth and Dunfermline, he engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his former partner. He sent messages to her commenting on underwear he had previously stolen from her and repeatedly sent messages in which he was refusing to acknowledge the relationship was over. The court was told McDermott went to the woman’s work claiming she had been taking drugs and should be tested for them but he was not believed. Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a community payback order with 180 hours of unpaid work, participation in the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders and a two-year non-harassment order.
