The monthly meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and DPDB Vice-Chairman B. Henok Buchem, was attended by Advisor for School Education and DPDB Chairman Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome. During the meeting, Kohima Municipal Council Chief Executive Officer Alemyapang Longchar gave a presentation on the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. He highlighted provisions relating to source segregation, door-to-door collection, recycling, scientific landfill management and the transition from open dumping. The presentation emphasised mandatory four-way segregation of waste into wet, dry, sanitary and special care waste, including electronic waste, paint cans and expired medicines. The Board recommended the proposal for shifting Bloomingdale Pre School to Kitsubozou Colony, approved the LADP 2026-27 for the six Assembly constituencies under Kohima district, and approved the institution of the Kohima DPDB Award to recognise outstanding government employees serving in the district.
