Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has notified that sanitation services will be suspended for defaulting households and wards if pending Residential Sanitation Fees are not cleared immediately, citing “serious concern” over mounting dues that threaten the sustainability of public cleanliness operations.
In a notice issued today, the EDTC said that several wards have failed to pay their outstanding fees despite repeated reminders and the continued provision of regular garbage collection and sanitation services.
“Such negligence adversely affects the Town Council's ability to maintain and sustain essential public sanitation services,” it stated.
All residents with outstanding dues have been directed to clear their payments within the stipulated period.
Failure to comply, the EDTC said, will compel it to “cease and withhold sanitation services from the defaulting households or ward/wards without any further notice.”
