Tuensang, July 29 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) on Wednesday urged the Nagaland government to convene, “without any further delay,” a special session of the Legislative Assembly to enact legislation for the constitution of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), as already decided and publicly declared by the state. In a press communiqué issued by its Press & Media Cell, the ENPO said the state government is expected to call the session in pursuance of the state cabinet's decision and resolution dated July 6, 2026. It also noted that the state government, through its press declaration of July 6, had announced its decision to convene a special assembly session for enacting legislation to constitute the FNTA. The proposed legislation, it said, will include the necessary legal provisions to confer legislative powers on the FNTA with respect to the subjects transferred to it. It expressed hope that all concerned stakeholders would uphold their commitments and continue to work sincerely towards the constitution of the FNTA “in both letter and spirit.”
