Nalgonda: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said that the state government is aiming to develop academic excellence in government schools that will enable students to compete with their counterparts from corporate schools. Government educational institutions are being transformed into destinations for quality education. Ponguleti pointed out that the Gollagudem Ashram School will have an additional hostel, dining hall, kitchen, extra classrooms, toilet blocks, cooking sheds, an overhead tank, and solar fencing. He commended the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) officials for their dedicated efforts toward developing the ashram schools. Bhadrachalam ITDA project officer B. Rahul emphasised that “Uddeepakam,” a specially designed programme, is being implemented in ashram schools to improve learning skills among tribal students.
