Hyderabad:Around 2,000 students participated in wildlife awareness programmes organised at Nehru Zoological Park to mark International Tiger Day on Wednesday. The zoo organised drawing, painting, essay writing, quiz, elocution and debate competitions for students from NASR Boys School, NASR Girls School and VIP's International School on July 27 and 28. Around 240 students also took part in a tiger awareness rally from the zoo’s main entrance. A slogan-writing activity, face-painting sessions and a selfie point were also organised to promote tiger conservation. Speaking on the occasion, Nehru Zoological Park Curator J. Vasantha said International Tiger Day is observed annually to raise awareness about tiger conservation.
