Continuous rainfall in the erstwhile Karimnagar district that started on Tuesday night continued on Wednesday, leading to local rivulets and streams overflowing and low-lying areas getting inundated in a few towns in the district, including Jagtial and Korutla.
Vehicular traffic between Jagtial and Dharmapuri has come to a stop with two rivulets Aksaipalli and Anantharam overflowing.
Heavy flood water is flowing at the railway underpass bridges at the 5 incline and 2-A incline of the coal town.
Irrigation projects in the area have started receiving inflows following continuous rainfall in their catchment areas.
Availability of water in the project has risen to 10.4360 TMC against the full storage capacity of 20 TMC.
