Hyderabad: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games to be held in Telangana was held at the Olympic Bhavan here on Wednesday. Headed by A. P. Jithender Reddy, Telangana Olympic Association (TOA) president, Sports Affairs Advisor to the Government of Telangana and Special Representative of the Telangana Gover-nment in New Delhi; and Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) Vice-Chairperson & Managing Director Dr A. Sonibala Devi, the meeting was attended by SATG Deputy Director (Technical) S. Srinivas and TOA secretary P. Malla Reddy, along with secretaries and representatives of various State Sports Associations. Addressing the gathering, Jithender Reddy emphasised the need for all State Sports Associations to work in close coordination to ensure Telangana delivers an outstanding performance in the Khelo India Youth Games. He stressed that athlete selections should be conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner, providing deserving young sportspersons with the opportunity to represent the state. He further stated that the Government of Telangana is committed to the promotion and development of sports and urged all State Sports Associations to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and professionalism to help Telangana win more medals at the national level.
