Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government is taking up fee revision in the private engineering colleges by constituting a committee with a minimum assured fee of ₹47,000 per seat from the earlier ₹40,000 for the new academic year from August 10.
The managements of private engineering colleges have approached the government with a request to revise the fees as the three-years term of the previously fixed fee was over.
They claimed that they suffered a lot due to “irrational fixation” of the fees during the YSR Congress period.
However, it has permitted us to shuffle the seats among the departments based on demand from the students.
”Meanwhile, representatives of the managements of the private engineering colleges criticised the previous YSR Congress government for “reducing the fee to some colleges and hiking fee to others” irrespective of the availability of infrastructure, faculty members and quality of teaching and other amenities.Infographics:AP has nearly 1.50 lakh seats in 218 private engineering collegesFees will go up beyond permitted limits in case the colleges are having more amenities
