ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Residents at Sunport Plaza Apartments say broken air conditioning has left some units near 82 degrees as tenants deal with weeks and even months of heat. Multiple residents at the southeast Albuquerque complex told KOB 4 on Wednesday that they have slept, eaten and spent their days in apartments without working air conditioning. Gray, the managing company, confirmed by phone that four units are not working. It’s getting harder and harder every day, and I don’t know what to do anymore,” said Rebecca Carmody, resident at Sunport Plaza Apartments. The city said it is working to make sure the management company follows a recent landlord ordinance.
