ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Federal officers found 60 exotic snakes, including 52 highly venomous ones, during a raid at a South Valley home tied to a drug case. New Mexico wildlife officers removed the snakes during a federal drug raid at the home last week. Video showed officers taking cobras, pit vipers and mambas from the house, including a Black King Cobra and a Green Mamba from black trash cans. Aside from 60 venomous snakes, agents recovered a half a pound of cocaine and guns. New Mexico law bans venomous snake ownership without a permit, and federal law also carries penalties for trafficking venomous snakes.
