America’s central bank, the US Federal Reserve, left interest rates on hold yesterday as officials split over how to tackle inflation.
It was the second rates meeting under chief Kevin Warsh, who took over in May after being appointed by US President Donald Trump.
Officials voted 9-3 to hold rates in the 3.5 to 3.75 per cent range.
