One person is dead and three were seriously injured – including two children – in a highway crash west of Edmonton on Sunday afternoon.
Parkland RCMP say the crash involved two SUVs at the intersection of Highway 627 and Highway 779 in Parkland County.
Authorities say an SUV driving east on Highway 627 was driven by 42-year-old woman, with children aged four and six as passengers.
The 73-year-old woman in the vehicle going south on Highway 779 was airlifted by ambulance to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say she died of those injuries Tuesday.
