Morocco’s King Mohammed VI highlighted on Throne Day the progress made by the country’s economy, citing strong growth, rising industrial exports and record tourism arrivals, while urging the financial sector to do more to support investment and small businesses.
He said sectors including automotive manufacturing, aerospace, renewable energy and food processing had become key pillars of the economy, helping attract foreign investment and create jobs.
King Mohammed VI said strengthening economic sovereignty had become increasingly important amid growing protectionism and efforts by countries to secure supply chains.
Tourism reached a record level in 2025, with nearly 20 million visitors including members of the Moroccan diaspora, the king recalled.
Looking ahead, King Mohammed VI called on banks and financial institutions to expand access to funding for small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation-driven companies and exporters.
