In April 2026, Bring Me The Horizon’s deathcore fans found their way back to the band when they announced a re-recording of Count Your Blessings, their 2006 debut album. Whether these fans were elder emos expressing nostalgia or fans who listened to Bring Me The Horizon before they “went pop”, this re-recorded album titled Count Your Blessings | Repented reigned in those familiar with Bring Me The Horizon’s early work as well as an influx of new listeners. Released on July 10th, Count Your Blessings | Repented fuses Myspace-era deathcore with modern metal recording and mixing, all while highlighting frontman Oli Sykes’ vocal development for the past 20 years. During a slow breakdown, Sykes exhibits his vocal capabilities, starting on low gutturals, then switching to higher fry screams. This re-recording was meant to bring Count Your Blessings up to modern metal production standards, but the addition of “Dehumanized” feels like an attempt to make a 20-year-old album relevant again.
