Star Tribune
A Star Tribune spokesman on Wednesday confirmed the company reached a deal with Legacy Investing, the firm that transformed part of downtown's Sleep Number Building into a data center for artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Demand for data centers has exploded in recent years to meet the vast computing needs of artificial intelligence.
The Sleep Number Building contained an antiquated data center, built in 2004 for American Express.
The Star Tribune built what was then a state-of-the-art printing plant in 1986, a time when the North Loop was mostly parking lots and vacant warehouses.
English said Legacy has been in conversation with the mayor and other city officials about its plans for the Star Tribune site.
