LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit took a Levy County man into custody peacefully on Tuesday after a standoff that lasted several hours. According to a Levy County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to a report of aggravated assault involving a firearm in the Manatee Farms area outside Chiefland. According to his statement, the resident, 67-year-old Terry Cox, came out of the residence and began yelling at him to leave. The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit (TRU) arrived on the scene and began negotiating with Cox, who eventually surrendered peacefully after several hours. He is being held in the Levy County Detention Center on a $50,000.00 bond.
