(Shaw Local News Network)Joliet Junior College has received a $281,000 Advanced Manufacturing Grant from the Illinois Community College Board to expand its MakerLab and launch a new certification program in additive manufacturing – industrial 3D printing used across healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing.
JJC will use the expansion to offer the additive manufacturing technician certification recognized by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
The new program addresses growing demand for workers skilled in additive manufacturing.
