U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) this month issued a contracting request seeking what it calls "turn-key" detention services in several regions, including Pennsylvania. That closely matches the capacity of the existing Moshannon Valley Processing Facility in Clearfield County, which is located less than 30 miles from the State College airport. U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean, who toured the Moshannon Valley Processing Facility this summer, said the similarities stood out. It also requires operators to provide housing, medical and mental health care, transportation, guard services, food service and detention services. "We believe the facility that ICE is mentioning in their RFI is Moshannon Valley Detention Center," she said.
