Earlier this month, contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Forge Biologics announced its partnership with biotech Restore Vision. “The collaboration has included process optimization, small-scale process development, scale-up activities, toxicology AAV manufacturing, and GMP production of clinical material.” As part of the agreement, Forge will handle Restore Vision’s AAV process development at its 200,000-square-foot facility in Columbus, Ohio, referred to as the Hearth. Despite this, both Forge and Restore Vision appear to be optimistic regarding the future of RV-001. “Our regulatory, manufacturing, and quality teams continue to work closely with Restore Vision to support the program as it advances,” Malowski concluded.
