Elwen Roberts from Betws Gwerfil Goch has been awarded the 2026 External Award for Services to Agriculture by the Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) for her long-standing commitment to promoting Welsh red meat and agriculture to audiences across Wales. The award was presented during the FUW President’s reception at this year’s Royal Welsh Show. Ian Rickman, president at FUW, said: "Elwen has dedicated her career to championing Welsh agriculture and promoting the exceptional quality of our home-produced red meat. "On behalf of the Farmers' Union of Wales, I am delighted to congratulate Elwen on this thoroughly deserved recognition and thank her for her outstanding contribution to Welsh agriculture." Her work has reached a wide range of audiences, from children in rural primary schools and educators to television viewers and visitors at major agricultural shows, including the Royal Welsh Show.
