The 1970 song Cat Stevens called a “perfect” recordingDolly Parton is a musician who can write songs that soothe the soul and break your heart in one fell swoop.
It’s led to the development of some of the best and most heartbreaking tracks in human history.
The record was put together in Provence, somewhere Stevens had an affinity for because of all the history that surrounded the area.
Surrounded by so much history, and working on an album which is already considered a fundamental part of music history, Stevens decided to play on as much with his classic ‘Father and Son’.
I sing the father’s part in my role today, which means the son is now 50 and the father has just been born.
