The funding was approved at a meeting of the council’s Green Spaces, Environment and Sustainability Committee on July 21. Ben Rhydding Community Benefit Society received £3,000 towards urgent drainage repair works at the Ben Rhydding Sports Club car park, aimed at improving access and safety for visitors. A further £3,000 was awarded to Ilkley All Saints School PTA to support a roadside planting scheme designed to enhance the local environment, boost biodiversity and improve the streetscape. Councillor Pauline Allon, chair of the Green Spaces, Environment and Sustainability Committee, welcomed the funding awards. The council said the grants demonstrate its commitment to supporting projects that benefit the local area, improve community spaces and strengthen Ilkley’s environmental and visitor offer.
