This year’s concert is conducted by John Lyon, who conducts many orchestras across the region, including Leeds Symphony Orchestra and West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra. They will be joined by violinist Rachel Dow, a young musician who lives in Burley-in-Wharfedale and is a pupil at Ilkley Grammar School. In the rest of this popular programme, the orchestra will be playing Suite for String Orchestra by Frank Bridge, Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 10 in B minor, Elgar’s Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit and the well-loved Holberg Suite by Grieg. The venue for this concert is Burley Methodist Church on Saturday, August 22nd at 7.30pm.
