Dean Miles, 49, from Horsforth, died after being struck while crossing the A6120 in Horsforth, Leeds, on May 12, 2022.
An inquest later heard that the driver who struck Dean tested above the legal limit for cannabis, but no drug-driving charge was ultimately brought because of the current six-month legal time limit.
The meeting also discussed wider road safety concerns, including delays in forensic testing, drug-driving enforcement, and road safety measures on the A6120 near Horsforth.
This comes as the Department for Transport consults on a new Road Safety Strategy, a real chance to fix gaps like this one."
She added: "I'll keep pushing this case in Parliament for Dean, and for every family who deserves better from the system."
