The eastbound A127, between the Dunton Junction and the Fortune of War, has been partially shut since yesterday morning following the burst, which happened on the pavement beside the road. Essex and Suffolk Water confirmed that repairs to the damaged pipe were completed overnight, but the lane closure remains in place. A spokesman for the water company said: "The lane closure is still in place at the moment whilst we backfill and reinstate the road." Crews arrived at the scene of the burst yesterday afternoon, where they carried out excavation works. Essex and Suffolk Water said only a small number of customers were affected by the interruption.
