Political and institutional stability is a “rare, priceless commodity” in an increasingly volatile regional and international environment, King Mohammed VI said in his Throne Day address on Wednesday, describing stability as one of Morocco’s greatest strategic assets. Calling the current period “a pivotal moment” in Morocco’s development, the monarch said that “confidence and optimism should prevail over despair and frustration.” The remarks come as Morocco continues to position stability as a key pillar of its economic and investment strategy amid ongoing conflicts and political uncertainty across parts of North Africa and the Sahel. Morocco has consistently ranked among the more politically stable countries in North Africa and the wider region according to international governance indicators. “Today, stability is the key element in the development equation; it is the strategic asset we cherish in Morocco,” the monarch said.
