Oconee Planning Department is gathering public opinion and questions this week, as the staff and the county planning commission undertake a comprehensive review of the ordinance that pertains to roads, zoning, and design standards. It’s being driven at the behest of the county council which has called time out on large scale homebuilding with a temporary moratorium. A handful of individuals attended this afternoon’s public meeting. A second opportunity comes at 6 tomorrow night in county council chambers, and the public is invited. Three people spoke today, including a Bayshore Estates woman warning that unless changes the heavy traffic in her area of the county is going to get worse.
