RCMP in Chilliwack rescued a man stuck in the Fraser River on July 28 near Old Orchard Road and Arnold Road.
Police said that when they arrived, they found a man stuck in fast-moving water who was unable to make it to shore on his own.
UFVRD IPS said they sent officers in a jet boat across the river, who pulled the man out of the water and into the boat.
The Fraser River has strong currents, cold waters, shallow gravel bars, and log jams that can create several hazards for people who fall into the river, as well as for their rescuers,” said Cst.
Marc Verreault, UFVRD IPS jet boat operator.
