Sonora, CA—The Dove Fire suspect will face arson charges after being arrested on Monday for reportedly setting the blaze, and he will be arraigned this afternoon. Tuolumne County District Attorney Cassandra Jenecke made that announcement this morning (7/29/2026), detailing that 30-year-old Jacob Hoskins, of Sonora, will be charged with one count of arson and one count of recklessly causing a fire relating to his role in causing the Dove Fire. Due to the fire’s recent occurrence and its ongoing impact on Tuolumne County, Jenecke says, the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office is still receiving new law enforcement reports and information. “The Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the public for their vigilance and cooperation with emergency personnel and law enforcement,” praised Jenecke. Hoskins will be arraigned today, July 29, 2026, at 1:15 p.m. in the Tuolumne County Superior Court.
