Mrs. Carolyn J. Ashbaugh, 83, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 1:58 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois, with family by her side. She was born on March 10, 1943, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Oscar T. and Alice A. On February 24, 1968, she married Roger “Bud” Ashbaugh, in Knoxville. Carolyn is lovingly survived by her son, Todd (Chris) Ashbaugh, of Knoxville; her daughter, Shelley (Jon) Ashbaugh-Nelson, of Knoxville; and her two granddaughters, Merisa and Bailey, who brought her endless joy. A 1961 graduate of Knoxville High School, Carolyn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she faithfully served as church secretary for 22 years.
