Arsenal’s hopes of making a move for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi could be complicated after the highly rated youngster was ruled out for up to four months following foot surgery. Bournemouth confirmed the 20-year-old suffered the injury during the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria before returning to England, where he underwent a successful operation on Wednesday. Interest has also emerged from Barcelona, while Bournemouth have consistently maintained that the France Under-21 international is not for sale. Speaking earlier this year, team-mate Marcus Tavernier described Kroupi as a “world-class talent”, adding that Bournemouth had done “an amazing job” to bring him to the Vitality Stadium. For Arsenal, the injury is unlikely to diminish their long-term admiration, although it could delay any decision over whether to formalise their interest before the transfer window closes.
