A drone strike on a US-owned floating gas storage tanker at Egypt’s Damietta Port has raised concerns that the ongoing Middle East conflict could expand into new regions.
The attack triggered a fire, damaged another vessel and temporarily disrupted operations at one of Egypt’s important liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
According to maritime security firm Ambrey, a drone hit the US-owned floating storage tanker Energos Winter while cargo operations were underway at the Mediterranean port.
