NORTHUMBERLAND-The Northumberland and Whitby OPP participated n the Township of Hamilton Summer Camp Touch-A-Truck event today alongside local firefighters, providing campers with an opportunity to meet first responders and learn more about emergency services. The event marked the first of two planned engagements with the campers. Northumberland OPP will welcome the group to the detachment in the coming weeks for a day of activities, a barbecue, and an opportunity to learn more about policing. A highlight of the upcoming visit may include a special appearance from the OPP Canine Unit (K9) and Emergency Response Team (ERT). News of the possible visit quickly spread among the campers, generating plenty of excitement and anticipation for the return visit.
