The Claiborne Economic Partnership has postponed the annual Chamber Gala, which was scheduled for Friday, July 31 at Cumberland Gap High School. They shared on their Facebook page that they are deeply saddened by the passing of Mayor Joe Brooks. “Mayor Brooks was a valued supporter of our annual Chamber Gala and a steadfast advocate for the businesses, organizations, and people who make our community strong. “Out of respect for Mayor Brooks, his family, and our community during this time of mourning, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Chamber Gala originally scheduled for Friday, July 31. We appreciate your patience as we make this change in a way that reflects the respect and gratitude Mayor Brooks so greatly deserves.”
