The 12U Glen Allen Youth Athletic Association Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League all-star baseball team won the District 3 tournament in Lakeside in June, finished third in the state tournament in Crozet later that month and finished fourth at the Southeast Regional tournament in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this month. Overall, the team compiled a 10-3 record through the three tournaments, outscoring its opponents 130-54. In the district tournament, the team defeated Varina 7-1, Lakeside 9-0 and Varina 15-5 to win the title. Then in the state tournament, Glen Allen completed pool play with a 4-0 record (defeating Peachtree 20-3, Brentsville 12-0, New Kent 12-1 and Arlington 8-6) before losing to Arlington 10-8 in the semifinal round. On the mound, Jordan L. pitched 12.1 innings across five games without allowing a run, striking out 10 batters while walking none.
