The Dominican Republic welcomed 11.6 million international visitors in 2025, becoming the second most-visited destination in Latin America, behind Mexico and ahead of Brazil, according to the latest figures released by the UN Tourism. The Dominican Republic has maintained steady tourism growth since international travel rebounded, consistently setting new visitor records despite global economic uncertainty, inflation in key source markets, and geopolitical challenges affecting worldwide travel. A major factor behind the country’s success has been its expanding network of international flights connecting travelers from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Latin America. At the same time, continued investment in hotels and resorts, along with the development of emerging destinations, has broadened the country’s appeal. Between January and May, the Dominican Republic received 5.6 million visitors, while January alone surpassed 1.2 million arrivals, setting a new monthly record and pointing to another strong year for the industry.
