Arkansas-based stallion The Big Beast (Yes It's True–V V S Flawless, by Deputy Minister), sire of recent GI Jaipur Stakes winner Reef Runner, was euthanized Tuesday due to health complications. Owner Alex Lieblong posted the news on X. His best runner to date is Reef Runner, who captured the G2 1351 Turf Sprint in Saudi Arabia and the GII Eddie D. Stakes as a Lieblong homebred in addition to the Jaipur last month at Saratoga. Reef Runner is currently sidelined with a soft tissue injury, but is expected to return to racing. The Big Beast leaves behind another dozen black-type winners.
