The Andrew Carnegie Foundation has announced $19.4 million in grants to understand how mass movements of people and the role of non-state actors are influencing regional stability and global politics. 12 organisations have been selected to receive philanthropic grants of $1-2 million to study and respond to mass migration and the expanding power of non-state actors. The foundation’s goal is to advance international peace by building safe migration pathways to disrupt criminal and disinformation networks. ‘The unprecedented scale of forced migration and the growing influence of non-state actors are reshaping political landscapes across the world,’ said Jonathan Tepperman, Carnegie’s international programme vice president.
