Picard season 3 is an example of a short Star Trek season that was fairly tight throughout, and seemingly planned from the start. Something that I feel lies hand in hand with short seasons of Star Trek are the character-focused shows. Star Trek: Picard is obviously focused on a single character… It's Picard. Of course, no one wants every Star Trek project to be a copy and paste of the last. Star Trek is coming toward a sort of cooling-off period, which I believe to be a good thing - creativity needs time to rest, recuperate, and reignite.
