BC Wildfire Service is warning TNRD residents to adhere to evacuation orders after a Clinton area resident needed rescue by wildfire firefighters. He added that the reason orders are put in place is not only for the safety of the public, but of the firefighters as well. BC Wildfire also released a statement reminding the public that an evacuation order is put in place when the situation presents a significant danger. However, choosing to remain in an area that is under an evacuation order puts yourself, your family and first responders in danger. Evacuation alerts and orders remain throughout the Highway 97 area around Clinton and 70 Mile due to the fire that first sparked on July 17, since growing to almost 70,000 hectares.
