UPDATE: July 29, 4:30p.m. Highway 97C has now been closed between Logan Lake and Highland Valley Copper Mine Road. A wildfire has sparked on the west end of Logan Lake on the afternoon of July 29, and has already been reported by BC Wildfire Service. The fire is already listed as 10 hectares on the BC Wildfire Service Map as of 3p.m, though the situation is ongoing. Public reports on social media indicate an aircraft response already on scene, including bucketing helicopters.
